Our commitment to sustainability is built into how we operate. We follow a circular economy approach—one that focuses on keeping products and materials in use for as long as possible. Instead of the traditional buy–use–discard cycle, we design our products to move through multiple lives.

Every year, millions of bicycles are discarded after short periods of use, adding to unnecessary waste and carbon emissions. At Gro Club, we work differently. Bicycles that still have usable life are first passed on to institutions, older bicycles are harvested for parts that support our service network, and only then are frames regenerated and brought back into use. This ensures maximum value is extracted from every product before anything is rebuilt.

By extending the life of each product—across bicycles today and categories like bunk beds, car seats, carry cots, and prams in the future—we significantly reduce the need to manufacture new ones. Making a Difference

Our Impact on Carbon Emissions

Manufacturing a brand-new bicycle generates about 330 kg of carbon emissions. Through our regeneration process, each bicycle is used across at least five cycles, helping save nearly 60% of carbon emissions over its lifetime.

Before regeneration, bicycles that still have usable life are reused by institutions, and components from older bicycles are harvested for parts and used across our service network. This ensures that every part is put to use before a frame is regenerated.

With over 30,000 customers, we’re on track to save more than 23 million kg of carbon emissions over the lifetime of these products — enough electricity to power ~30,000 Indian homes for an entire year.

Our commitment to sustainability extends to our manufacturing practices. We prioritise the use of steel frames in our bicycles and bunk beds, a material that is not only durable and easily repairable but also more environmentally friendly compared to alternatives like carbon and aluminium.

Our local manufacturing approach (bicycles) further reduces our carbon footprint. By sourcing components and gear from local suppliers within the vicinity of our manufacturing and assembly unit, we minimise transportation distances and associated carbon emissions.

Moreover, our bicycles are designed to share components, making it easy to service and ensuring spare part availability. This not only enhances the longevity of our products but also reduces the need for new parts, further contributing to our sustainability goals.

Reducing Carbon Footprint One Delivery at a Time

We're committed to making our shipping process as green as possible. We deliver fully assembled products, eliminating the need for additional packaging materials and reducing waste. Moreover, we optimise our delivery process by planning efficient routes and consolidating multiple shipments on a single route. This allows us to streamline the shipping process, reduce the number of individual deliveries, and minimise our carbon footprint.
