Gro Club's Upgrade Policy


1. Overview

Gro Club's Smart Ownership Upgrade Program allows customers to upgrade eligible products as their child's needs change. The program is designed to help families access the right products at the right stage while retaining value from their previous purchase.

2. Eligible Products

The Upgrade Program currently applies to eligible products sold by Gro Club, including:

    • Bicycles: All bicycles
    • Baby Products: Stroller, Cradle & Carry Cot

Gro Club reserves the right to add, remove or modify eligible categories without prior notice.

3. Upgrade Value Calculation

Upgrade value is calculated using the selling price of the product at the time of purchase. Delivery charges, accessories, extended warranty plans and other non-product charges are not included in the upgrade value calculation.

Defined Usage Periods

Product Category Usage Period
Baby Products 12 Months
Bicycles 18 Months

The monthly value is calculated as:

Product Selling Price Shown on the Purchase Invoice ÷ Defined Usage Period

The product selling price refers to the price paid for the product itself and does not include delivery charges, accessories, protection plans, installation charges or other non-product charges.

The upgrade discount is calculated as:

Monthly Value × Remaining Unused Months

The resulting amount is provided as a discount on the customer's next eligible Gro Club purchase.

4. Promotional Bundle/Discounted Purchases

Products purchased as part of a discounted bundle are eligible for upgrades.

For upgrade calculations, individual products purchased as part of a discounted bundle are assigned a reduced value. Currently, this value is calculated as 50% of the listed selling price of the individual product, after which the standard usage-based calculation is applied.

5. Upgrade Handling Fee

To cover logistics, inspection, processing and handling costs associated with an upgrade, a flat Upgrade Handling Fee of ₹500 is applicable for each upgrade transaction.

The handling fee:

    • Applies per product being upgraded.
    • Is payable at the time of the upgrade.
    • Is separate from the upgrade value calculation.
    • Does not contribute towards the value of the new product being purchased.

The upgrade value calculated under this policy will be applied as a discount to the new purchase, after which the applicable handling fee will be added to the final order value.

6. Upgrade Eligibility

To qualify for an upgrade, the product must be in reasonable working condition.

Gro Club reserves the right to reduce or deny upgrade value where products:

    • Have been intentionally modified
    • Have suffered accidental or misuse-related damage
    • Are missing major components
    • Present safety concerns
    • Cannot be reasonably reused, regenerated or serviced
    • The product must be in reasonable working condition and contain all major components required for normal use.

Normal wear and tear resulting from regular use will not affect eligibility.

7. Cross-Category Upgrades

Customers may upgrade across product categories provided the upgrade moves forward in the child's age and development stage. Upgrade value cannot be redeemed for cash, refunded, transferred or carried forward. Any unused balance is forfeited.

Permitted Examples

    • Cradle → Stroller
    • Stroller → Bicycle
    • Smaller Bicycle → Larger Bicycle

Not Permitted

    • Bicycle → Baby Product
    • Products intended for older children → Products intended for younger children

Gro Club reserves the right to determine final eligibility for cross-category upgrades.

8. Upgrades Beyond the Defined Usage Period

Customers may continue using their products beyond the defined usage period. The usage period is used solely for calculating upgrade value and does not limit product ownership or usage.

For products upgraded after:

    • 12 months (Baby Products)
    • 18 months (Bicycles)

The exact discount offered after the defined usage period will depend on the product's age, condition and category and may be anywhere between 0% and 40% of the original purchase value.

The final upgrade value will be determined solely by Gro Club.

9. Ownership

All products purchased from Gro Club are owned by the customer.

Participation in the Upgrade Program is entirely optional. Customers may choose to:

    • Upgrade through Gro Club
    • Continue using the product
    • Keep the product permanently
    • Gift or pass on the product
    • Dispose of the product as they see fit
    • Sell the product

Ownership remains with the customer unless the product is returned to Gro Club as part of an approved upgrade transaction.

NOTE: This only applies to purchased made from Gro Club on or after 21st June 2024 as part of our smart ownership model. All purchases from Gro CLub prior to 21st June 2024 are the property of Gro Club unless the customer has purchased a ownership pack seperately for the product.

10. Assessment & Verification

Gro Club reserves the right to:

    • Verify product purchase records
    • Inspect the product before approving an upgrade
    • Reject upgrade requests where eligibility requirements are not met
    • Modify upgrade values in cases involving misuse, missing components, or inaccurate purchase information 

11. Policy Changes

Gro Club may revise this Upgrade Policy from time to time. The version published on the Gro Club website at the time of the upgrade request shall apply.
